Anya tilts her head back to look at Chance. "Sadly, I served my full sentence. At the time, I didn't have the skills to get out of even medium security. Now however..." Anya grins.

"As fun as that sounds, I hope you don't have to test it just yet," Venisha says with a wry grin.
[OOC: we're gaming tonight, yes? I wasn't sure if we were back on the original schedule now...]

Totally sincerely, "It would be fun, wouldn't it? Only the whole getting arrested and charged would take too long. I think I should instead sneak in, see how long it takes to be noticed, and then leave."

"Isn't that something Houdini did? Or did he just arrange to be placed in prison as a publicity stunt?" Venisha is genuinely intrigued by the notion of a prison-break. She just doesn't want an arrest to impede their work together. "But for now, I believe it's your turn for a truth-or-dare challenge, isn't it?"

Anya's grin widens at Venisha's interest, and then grows wider still at Venisha's reminder. "Chance~~. Truth or dare?" She turns to face him, challenge obvious on her face.

Chance feigns surprise "Me? I did *not* see that one coming." With an exasperated sigh, he thinks for a moment..."I think I've already shared enough...but I'd probably twist your dare to suit my needs anyways...so...let's go with truth. If I don't like the question I can always drink." When he says that, it brings to mind that he hasn't even touched his drink during the entire exchange.

"If you think I can't come up with a properly phrased dare, you underestimate me. You should really just try me and find out. As for truth - what's the best gig you've ever played?" Her tone shifts from playful to professional curiosity.

Chance sits back to think about the question, muttering, "Good one," under his breath. His eyes get a somewhat glassy look upon his eyes as he thinks back...
"That'd be an impromptu gig...about three years ago at the Vortex. I'd only been in London a couple months, but I'd heard about the open stage policy and how all types of music were accepted. I figured 'It's mental, but why not?' and decided to sneak in." Chance takes a deep breath as a smile plays at the corners of his mouth, "So, dressed in whatever I could blag, I hit the stage during an intermission and started playing my sax...played a good bit of jazz but mixed it with some industrial I'd toyed around with. I was in my own world until I heard another saxophone join in on stage...and I was thinking 'Who is this berk? I didn't invite anyone to sit in!'"
"With the house lights down, I couldn't make out his mug, so I just kept playing...and so did he." A light chuckles escapes his lips as he continues, "Pretty soon we had a duel going...and then this other guy joined in with some keyboards. I was miffed but damn it sounded pretty good. It wasn't until the end and the place erupted in applause and shouts that I got to see who I'd been battling...and bugger me, it was Paquito D'Rivera!" Chance gets quiet for a moment, like he's letting the enormity of the name sink in, even if the rest of the folks in the room have no clue who that is.
"After I found my voice again, we talked...he was in London with Trío Corrente and was at the club to see some new acts. He said he felt inspired...something pulled him on stage. I could not believe it! The keyboardist turned out to be Jeremy, he's in the <Insert My Band Name I Can't Remember> now. The three of us talked for a while...and played another set later that night. Jeremy told me he wanted to form a band, crossing over jazz with some industrial. Paquito thought it could work with the sound we had, and that was all it took to get us started." Chance opens his eyes slowly as he comes to the end of the story, "I met Dodger that night too, turns out he was one of Jeremy's mates as well. I guess my luck was good that night...met a legend, formed a band, jumped my would-be mentor...I don't think I got to sleep until the next night..." There seems to be more he'd say but as he looks around at the others, he realizes he probably said way more than he needed to. If you look close enough, there's probably something you won't see a lot of...and that's just the hint of a flush at the edge of Chance's cheeks.
He clears his throat, sits up a bit straighter, and quickly changes the subject, "So, Venisha, Truth or Dare?"

Anya listens with obvious interest to his story. She reacts appropriately to the name drop - even if she doesn't know who the musician is, she can tell what the right reaction is, and she can look him up later. She isn't fazed by his comments about Dodger, of course. After he proceeds with the game, she says quietly to him, "Sounds like an about perfect night." She flashes him a quick smile, ignoring his blush, and turns back around to face the group and to lean against Chance's leg.

"Dare," Venisha answers. She has a particular gleam in her eye. Probably because she's been drinking a good number of shots.

“Okay,” Venisha answers, deep in thought. “There are thousands of poses out there, so there’s absolutely no guarantee that another yogi hasn’t developed whatever I come up with right now. But I’ll give it a try.”
She stands and stretches her arms, then rolls her head from side to side to limber up a bit. Placing her feet a little less than shoulder width apart, she, takes a deep breath and stretches upward, then curves into a backbend. Her motions are very fluid, and as soon as her palms touch the ground, she begins to move them closer to her feet, tightening the arc of her body. Eventually she grabs onto her own shins from behind, settling into what looks like would be a very painful position.
“I call this सुई (suee) – the needle,” she calls out, turning her head to the side. It’s literally resting against the back of her thighs. She grins over at Chance. “Care to join me?”
[OOC: the only example of this pose I can find is in a YouTube clip. If you google Jodie Hollis, you can see how one gets into the position.]

Chance watches with admiration, grinning as Venisha begins to contort her body in such unnatural ways. "Thanks, but no thanks! I'm in pain just watching you!" He's about to say something else, when there is a shuddering in the room and the deck of cards around the stew pot begin to tarnish in appearance..."Ah, Doc, is that supposed to happen?"
