"I haven't, but I'll try anything once! I make no promises about good behavior if there's no spices in the ground beef, though." (Ooc: lol of course. Hope you're having fun!)

Alex shrugs. "For me it's more about what I'm doing, but yeah, I get that."
He glances over to the kitchen. "Dr. Stake, you almost done in there?"
((OOC if Paul doesn't respond in an hour or two, I'll send my next question to someone else.))

There is a strange mechanical sound coming from the kitchen now, not unlike a electric can opener powered by the souls of the damned. "Well, he seems to be occupied. Anya, truth or dare?"

"is that part of the normal borscht process? I'm getting a little concerned that if we eat it, we'll end up in an alternate universe. Truth."

"I've discovered it's best to leave Etherites to their own devices. So why did you move to London?"

Cheerfully, Anya says, "I Awakened in Boston. I'd been living in Massachusetts, mostly in Boston, for...7 years? At that point. When I came down from the experience of having my mind blown by the universe in the best possible way, I turned around, and Carole was there. She said she wanted to teach me , and I said yes. I had nothing to stay for and I wanted so much to feel that again." At the last few words, her voice turns hungry and raw. She gets lost in the memory for a second before shaking it off.
"I have no idea why she was in Boston that day, but she moved me to London with her. I've been here for four years now."

"Ummm... Let's go with another truth. I think. Yes - truth."

"So very little trust in this room." Anya grins broadly at Venisha before her face shifts to almost childlike curiosity. "What's it like being close to your family and not being able to tell them about...this." Anya waves her right hand in a broad circle, to indicate the room and its inhabitants. "I mean, you live with your brother - what does he think is up with your life?"

"Ahhhh, he thinks I'm a very work-focused and incredibly spiritual person," Venisha says. "We were both living in an ashram in India when everything changed. But I was simply pulled aside for 'deeper spiritual training' and he was left with the main group."
She shrugs. "Luckily he's twenty-two and a little self-absorbed. He's a uni student, so we generally avoid each other a lot. It's... not easy. I spend half of my time wishing he were awakened so we could share the experience. The other time I just want him to be oblivious forever.
"For my part, I don't go around doing things that would make him suspicious. And I don't have much contact with my mum and dad - they live in Jaipur, and are deeply disappointed in me for not following the course they set out for me - I am neither married nor have I gone to uni, so now they favor Ranjit."
Smiling apologetically, she go she's with, "so, long story short, it's strange and awkward to keep major aspects of my life hidden. But the way my powers manifest keep it easier than it would be for others."

Anya listens attentively until Venisha says "deeply disappointed", at which point, she narrows her eyes. When Venisha finishes: "They ought to just be happy you're happy. Even if it'd make it more strange and awkward for you." Fiercely: "They're missing out."

Venisha smiles gratefully. "I appreciate the solidarity. But I'm okay with it. They leave me alone, and I'm can teach yoga instead of being a pharmacist or whatever they wanted, married to some man they chose. This way I get to have a life that's my own, at least.
"What will you have, Chance? Truth or dare?"

Chance has been quiet during most of the exchange, but does seem rather introspective at Venisha's explanation. He offers nothing outwardly verbal in response until his name is called. With a exaggerated "hmmmm" he finally leans forward slightly and rests his elbows on his knees. "I suppose it's my turn for a Truth." The flicking of his eyes back and forth betrays just a hint of nervousness at what type of question Venisha may ask.
